Although ABC recently ordered a full season of the new private eye show "Snoops," the need to find room on its primetime schedule for multiple nights of "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire," ultimately led creator David E. Kelley and ABC to pull the plug on the rookie drama.

Some industry insiders familiar with the situation believe that because ABC wants to air "Millionaire" on Sunday nights at 9 p.m.--where "Snoops" is currently slated--the only viable opening it had for Kelley's show was Thursdays at 10 p.m., which would put it up against NBC's "ER."

>With "Snoops" already having ratings-trouble, and with one of its major costars, Paula Marshall, leaving the show shortly, Kelley decided not to continue. Production is expected to end after filming its 13th episode.

According to Variety, the network is also expected to yank the new comedy "Odd Man Out," as part of a midseason schedule shuffle to be announced Thursday.
